Stress incontinence is the release of small amounts of urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh or exercise. While urge incontinence is the strong need to urinate, but can’t get to the bathroom in time. Both of these forms of leakage of urine are more common among women. This is especially true for women who have just give birth; women who are starting menopause; or postmenopausal women. For menopausal and postmenopausal women, the cause is due to the decline of estrogen which reduces the production of collagen in the vaginal area, which leads to vaginal laxity.
